{"id":636,"date":"2016-08-23T17:10:41","date_gmt":"2016-08-23T16:10:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/csrf\/?p=636"},"modified":"2019-07-26T14:48:00","modified_gmt":"2019-07-26T13:48:00","slug":"successful-bid-european-study-high-capacity-vehicles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/novacom.group\/csrf\/successful-bid-european-study-high-capacity-vehicles\/","title":{"rendered":"Successful bid for European Study on High Capacity Vehicles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The SRF has been part of a successfully consortium bid for a European project on high capacity vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>The FALCON project: \u2018Freight And Logistics in a Multimodal Context\u2019 aims to address two important issues concerned with application of high capacity vehicles in Europe: (i) the factors that influence modal choice and (ii) \u2018fit for purpose\u2019 road vehicles to influence modal choice.&nbsp; A team from Cambridge is heavily involved in the latter issue: focussing on developing a framework for performance based standards (PBS) that ensure the safety, infrastructure interaction and environmental performance of high capacity vehicles.&nbsp; The team will be assisted by John Woodrooffe from the University of Michigan <a href=\"http:\/\/localhost\/csrf\/2016\/08\/distinguished-research-visitor-john-woodrooffe\/\">see separate news item<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Other members of the project team include the project coordinator from HAN University of Applied Sciences, (Netherlands); VTI (Sweden); DLR (Germany); TNO (Netherlands); IFSTTAR (France); BRRC (Belgium); MAN Trucks and Michelin Tires.&nbsp; The project team was assembled during a previous project on PBS standards, coordinated by ACEA, the European Automobile Manufacturers&#8217; Association.<\/p>\n<p>The project is funded by CEDR: Conf\u00e9rence Europ\u00e9enne des Directeurs de Routes (Conference of European Directors of Roads) as part of their Transnational Research Programme.&nbsp; The work will take place over a two-year period, beginning in September 2016.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The SRF has been part of a successfully consortium bid for a European project on&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":2271,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"news.php","format":"standard","meta":{"kt_blocks_editor_width":""},"categories":[3],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v16.4 -
