From 1990 to 1996 he undertook post-doctoral research in heavy vehicle dynamics at CUED. From 1996 to 2000 he was a lecturer at the University of Nottingham. In 2000 he returned to CUED to take up his present position.&nbsp;He is a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and has&nbsp;50 journal publications and 40 conference papers. His research activity has included vehicle-road interaction, heavy vehicle suspension design, and rolling resistance of heavy vehicle tyres. More recently he has focused on measuring, understanding and modelling driver-vehicle dynamic behaviour, with the aim of reducing vehicle development cost and improving vehicle dynamic performance.
