    1. Double deck trailers in grocery haulage and \u2018walking-floor\u2019 trailers in bulk haulage are two operations that can benefit significantly from lightweighting.<\/li>
    2. A weight saving of 1,000 \u2013 2,000 kg can be achieved on a 13.6 m single deck box trailer through a combination of lightweighting measures:<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Each additional roll cage corresponds to a 1.5% improvement in fuel consumption for a 13.6 m single deck trailer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
