{"id":3051,"date":"2020-08-20T15:45:52","date_gmt":"2020-08-20T14:45:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/novacom.group\/csrf\/?post_type=events&#038;p=3051"},"modified":"2020-11-11T12:41:31","modified_gmt":"2020-11-11T12:41:31","slug":"7th-international-workshop-on-sustainable-road-freight","status":"publish","type":"events","link":"https:\/\/novacom.group\/csrf\/events\/7th-international-workshop-on-sustainable-road-freight\/","title":{"rendered":"7th International Workshop on Sustainable Road Freight"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3>Decarbonising Freight Transport: Strategies for Developing Countries<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Centre for Sustainable Road Freight would like to invite interested parties to the 7th International Workshop on Sustainable Road Freight Transport.&nbsp;<\/strong>Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from road freight transport represents a significant global challenge with multiple technical, operational and political aspects. Designing, testing and implementation of effective interventions (managerial or technical), and appropriate policy measures need multi-disciplinary, multi-country research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Centre for Sustainable Road Freight would like to invite academics and practitioners from all related fields to take part in a debate of these issues \u2013 to shape the research agenda and to network with key research groups from around the world. Our ambition is to create an international network of practitioners and researchers working on all aspects of sustainable road freight transport, and to facilitate collaborative research amongst the specialists in the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Due to current circumstances the conference will be web-based, presented over a period of three days from 08:00 to 13:00 each day GMT (That will be 10:00 to 15:00 in South Africa, 13:30 to 18:30 in India and 16:00 to 21:00 in China).&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a presentations on ways to improve the sustainability of freight transport, including, but not limited to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Climate justice<\/li><li>Infrastructure for low carbon freight transport systems<\/li><li>Mode choice and multimodal freight networks<\/li><li>Local, national and international policy initiatives to facilitate the transition to low carbon road freight transport systems<\/li><li>Compliance and driver welfare<\/li><li>Affordability of low carbon emission strategies, financing models and green freight investment decision making<\/li><li>Low carbon supply chain system redesign<\/li><li>Low carbon fuel options for local, regional and long-haul freight transport<\/li><li>Technology improvements for low carbon freight transport technologies<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants are invited to submit abstracts presenting research investigating the sustainability of the freight transport sector. Abstracts focusing on the workshop themes described above are particularly welcome. Abstracts should&nbsp;describe&nbsp;recently completed research, or research in progress. Abstracts of max 1000 words should be submitted by&nbsp;<strong>17th&nbsp;July 2020<\/strong>. Notifications of acceptance for presentations will be sent out by&nbsp;<strong>7th&nbsp;August 2020<\/strong>.
